Labyrinth

A labyrinth is an ancient symbol combining the circle and the spiral into a purposeful path.

The labyrinth is a metaphor of life's journey to our own center and back out again into the World.

A labyrinth is not a maze. A maze is like a puzzle to be solved. A labyrinth has only one path.

The way in is the way out. With a labyrinth there is only one choice to be made. Wether to walk the spiritual path or not.

A classical labyrinth has seven circuits or paths that lead to the center. This is an ancient design that can date back more than 4000 years.

The 11 circuit labyrinth on the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France is considered as a metaphor for what is sacred in our lives.

When we walk the path inward, we carry our burdens with us. When we meditate in the center we ask for grace, forgiveness and understanding. When we walk the path outward, we are lighter, more joyful and ready again to take on our life's challenges.

The labyrinth metaphor might help you find greater meaning and fulfillment in your personal life and work.

You can make a labyrinth with stones in your garden to walk or even draw or color one on paper holding a particular aspect of your life in mind.

On internet many print out versions are available.

I can feel ideas of a new workshop being created ! xx
