What does your front door look like?

I am really fascinated about doors. I always take pictures of different doors when traveling.

And doors are different in every country, religion and culture. In Bali, local people don't have an entrance door. It is just an open gap in the wall leading into a courtyard that connects the different rooms. And at the entrance you can't avoid noticing the little woven baskets with offerings on the floor before stepping inside.

There is something magical about doors. In mediation or dream symbolism, an open door means a new opportunity and having the confidence to walk through it. A closed door could mean that it is not the right door for us to move through and we should try another one. Or it might symbolize that we are creating obstacles for ourselves. We could just have the key in our pocket. But also in real life doors have lots to tell.

Doors just make me curious to discover and imagine what lies behind them. Have you ever payed attention to your front door? It might reveal something about yourself and your way of life. Is your door easily to acces or do people have to pass a gate, a camera, a dog or any other way of protecting yourself? Did you built a wall around it? Don't you feel safe? And I am not only talking physical but emotional safety. What color does your door have?

Does it feel welcoming when approaching it? Are there flowerpots or flowerbeds? Is there a long or a short path towards it? Is it clean? overgrown with weeds? Paved? Or not? Well don't want to over analyze it but reflecting upon it for a moment can't harm, can it?

The door in the picture feels very welcoming and inviting to me. No gates. Big, wide. Blue is the color of communication. Surrounded by white. There is a door handle on the outside...Any more thoughts ?

How does your door look like? I am curious! You want to share a picture?
